Iron Man 3

Is it just us or has the Marvel Universe reached saturation point? Sure, the exciting build up towards the blockbuster The Avegers was superb, we couldnt' get enough of the fun superhero epics (at one stage, releasing two a year). That is still that case, but like any good build up and payoff (yes, let's assume I'm talking sexual)... once the climax has been reached, you want a bit of time to recharge before you go for another round.

It's for this very reason the Iron Man 3 trailer, while impressive and delivering some impressive visuals and hints of a darker direction, summons little more than a "Meh" from those of us in the office watching.

Yeah, sure, it looks cool - but is it really anything we haven't seen before. Let's face it, how can they top Stark saving the world from a nuclear weapon? It's a question the trailer asks - but for those of us viewing... do we even care?

Sure, Iron Man is the glue holding the Marvel cinema universe together, it holds all of the clues, the captain of the ship... but perhaps we needed something BRAND NEW to follow up The Avengers. We've seen the suit... let's give someone else a go, give us time to miss Iron Man. Treat'em mean, keep'em keen!

For those interested, Marvel's Iron Man 3 pits Tony Stark/Iron Man against a brand new enemy (to the cinema universe anyway) whose reach knows no bounds.

When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands (cue explosions), he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. With his back against the wall, and understandbly buggered, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him.

As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
