If there's one thing Disney know how to do, it's breath life into a non-existant franchise. It's what they do best, whether people are asking for a product or not, they've figured out how to release just the right thing at just the right time to.
When you actually think about it, when you consider the number of releases they shoot out into cinemas and onto DVD each year compared to the other big studios - their output is minimal. Yet, it's very rare for them not to hit big.
Their latest reboot and hopeful franchise (after the rare bombs of Prince of Persia and Sorcerers Apprentice) comes from their ol' buddy Jerry Bruckheimer and his go-to-guy director Gore Verbinski.
If thes names sound familiar, it's because they are the team behind the blockbuster "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise! They've teamed up again to bring the classic American tale "The Lone Ranger" back into the public's mindseye with a thrilling adventure infused with action and humour which finds the famed masked hero brought to life.
Fans of the old show will rekindle their love for old friends with Native American spirit warrior Tonto (played by, who else but, Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice-taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.
A stellar cast has been assembled for "The Lone Ranger" which also stars Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter.
