"Paranormal Activity 2"
If there is one thing we know about Hollywood, it's that they
love to make a bit of cash - no matter where it comes from. Whether
that be Jim Carey taking home $20M for something as bad as The Cable Guy, or the folks behind the G. I Joe movie
trying to pass off their product as "Something that isn't the worst
thing in the world" or even a slapdash sequel to a cheap-as-chips
horror movie... you can guarantee the money is coming from somewhere,
and Hollywood will take it with arms open wide.
Paranormal Activity 2
is the super speedy follow up to the horror phenomenon from last year.
A film which cost under $250,000 to make and grossed over $100M at the
Box Office. So, much like The Blair Witch Project before it, a sequel has been churned out quite quickly in order to cash in on "the buzz".
However, unlike the woeful sequel to the aforementioned Blair Witch, it seems Paranormal Activity 2
is sticking to what works. Simple and effective. So even if the movie
is terrible, at least it's similar enough to the first to lure people
into cinemas.
