Sneak Peak at "The Princess And The Frog"
with
Sean Lynch
It's been a long time since Disney have
delivered an animated feature film, let alone a good one. So it's
interesting to see that in a time where Toy Story 3
and Up! are
breaking all kinds of Box Office records that the folks at Disney would
go back to the art from upon which they made their name.
An artform, it must be said, was unfashionable several years before
Hollywood decided to stop making them.
However, if you are going to go back to the well, it might as well be
with a classic tale. And they don't get more classic than The Princess And The Frog.
It's a fairy tale which centres on a young girl named Princess Tiana
who lives in New Orleans' French Quarter during the Jazz Age -
essentially, it's a female twist on the traditional Frog Prince tale.
John Goodman, Terrance Howard and Oprah Winfrey all lend their voices -
but you get the feeling that perhaps this cast isn't the strongest it
could be if the aim is to bring back hand drawn animation to it's
former glory.
You be the judge when The
Princess And The Frog leaps into Australian cinemas on
Boxing Day 2009.
