The Aussie actress that appears in this film first hit it big in the excellent Lemoney Snickets film - but vanished from Hollywood fearing she "wasn't sure if she still wanted to be an actress".

In fact, rumour has it, she knocked back the major female roll in the surprise blockbuster Twilight.

So why has she turned up in this - what looks like yet another average-at-best Asian horror remake?

Based on a classic Korean folk tale, infused with 70s British horror, this Dreamworks version centers on modern-day teenage sister Anna and Alex Rydell who return home from a mental hospital, only to find their recovery unravelling because of a cruel stepmother, clueless father and a lingering ghost.

Look, even if it's excellent - it's still nothing ground breaking.
