From the Academy Award nominated team of director Pete Docter (Monsters, Inc.) and co-director Bob Peterson comes the latest epic from Disney Pixar in Up, a comedic adventure taking off (and lifting spirits) in summer 2009.
WALL-E
was an enormous hit, even by Pixar's standards - and certainly created
a new benchmark as far as animated features go (in that, it's not just
about making kids giggle, but also making it a worthwhile cineam
experience).
In Up, Carl
Fredricksen spent his entire life dreaming of exploring the globe and
experiencing life to its fullest. But at age 78, life seems to have
passed him by. That is, of course, until a twist of fate (and a
persistent eight-year old Wilderness Explorer named Russell) gives him
a new lease on life.
Up
takes audiences on a thrilling new Disney Pixar journey where the
unlikely pair encounter wild terrain, unexpected villains and jungle
creatures.
It's got a lot to live up to, and eventually, they surely have to have a dud. But by looking at the pure cuteness of Up
- you just get the sense that this probably won't be the straw that
breaks the camels back. If anything, it will be the movie that lines
the pockets of the Mouse... Mickey Mouse.
