No one expected Michael Bay to come out and create on of the coolest
Hollywood Blockbusters in history when he took the helm of the first
ever live-action Transformers movie.
But
he did - and it rocked the socks off of $700M worth of movie fans (and
that doesn't include the $250M it's made on DVD either).
So to say there is pressure on Michael Bay to follow it up is an understatement - and it isn't going to be easy.
First up, it's not the only robo-movie on the block this year. It will face some mighty tough competition from McG's Terminator Salvation which seems to have stolen every possible trick from the Transformers book.
The
second flick takes off soon after the first where the battle for
Earth has ended... but the battle for the universe has just begun.
After returning to Cybertron, Starscream assumes command of the
Decepticons, and has decided to return to Earth with force. The
Autobots believing that peace was possible finds out that Megatron's
dead body has been stolen from the US Military by Skorpinox and revives
him using his own spark.
Now Megatron is back seeking revenge
and with Starscream and more Decepticon reinforcements on the way, the
Autobots with reinforcements of their own, may have more to deal with
then meets the eye.
The big question here is whether or not Shia LaBeouf is up to the challenge of a Christian Bale led "dramatic blockbuster"?
