As 2011 closed, BLUEJU!CE dropped their third album "COMPANY" and it
turned out to be one of the best reviewed records of the year.
The
album was a high energy, brilliantly crafted, pop music anthology that
stood BLUEJU!CE aside from both their peers and current music trends.
It
left behind the inconsistency and genre hopping that some felt had
compromised their earlier records, and it delivered on the long term
live appeal of the band.
"COMPANY" was the first BLUEJU!CE album
to be featured on triple j, and it received 4 star "Album of the Week"
nods from the gatekeepers of critical acclaim in this country.
If
the critics buzzed when the album was released, it was the bands
audience that took the reins last month when BLUEJU!CE absolutely
smashed their spot on the national Big Day Out tour. The
Boiler Room was at total capacity as punters voted for the new material
with their feet and the band consistently pulled the biggest crowd of
the day to that stage.
This April, to celebrate the launch of “COMPANY”, the lads will be joined by the guys of Loon Lake (Melb) and The Cairos (Bris).
For
the kids please note that BLUEJU!CE are including some ALL AGE and
UNDER 18 events on their "COMPANY" headline tour for the first time.
The Metro shows in Sydney (April 13th) and The Gov show in Adelaide
(April 21st) are both ALL AGES, and in Melbourne the band are doing an
exclusive UNDER 18 matinee show at the The Hi Fi (April 28th).
