The Dark Knight Rises : Official Score Soundtrack
I've always been a movie score junkie. Whether it
was those initial bursts of joy from hearing the classics from Indiana
Jones, Superman and Star Wars or something as simple and wonderful as Psycho - there was something that drew me into
the grandiose world of strings and euphoria.
Perhaps it was a way to allow me to relive my favourite movie moments
without having to actually park my butt in front of a TV screen,
perhaps it was the opportunity to (like people do now with video games)
place myself inside the worlds which I love so dear (here's a tip, try
driving down the freeway with Alan Silvestri's Back To The Future score
and try not swerving between lanes in hopes that you hit 88 mph) - my
point is, they are awesome.
Some of my recent favourites have all come from one man - Hans Zimmer.
Whether it's Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean (for the record,
pretty much identical scores) or Inception the guy knows how to
simultaneously create a sense of adventure and dread.
His The Dark Knight score was earth shatteringly amazing, and he has
stepped it up a gear for The Dark Knight Rises... don't believe me...
