Music News: Falls Festival 2008

Falls Festival 2008
Franz Ferdinand : Falls Festival 2008

Franz Ferdinand return to Australia for the first time in almost two years for The Falls Festival

More Falls Festival: Falls Festival 2007 Round-Up

*UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 9th*

Just a quick note to let you know that The Falls Festival (Lorne, Victoria) is now completely SOLD OUT.

Tickets are still available (there are only a couple of thousand left so people will need to be quick) for The Falls Festival in Marion Bay (Tasmania).

Having allocated 80% of this years tickets to subscribers The Falls organisers saw the vast majority of tickets snapped in a matter of minutes.

Keeping in line with The Falls Festivals green sensibilities, the festival is again working alongside GreenTix and Greening Australia to ensure that with each ticket sold, a tree will be planted.

Festival founding director, Simon Daly, is happy with the result in Lorne saying "The response to the festival this year is in line with previous years and shows that the diverse programming and unique location is as popular as ever."

"Our best kept secret is still the event in beautiful Marion Bay." There are currently a couple of thousand tickets still available for the Tasmanian event.

Once again, the number of people vying for tickets in Lorne outnumbered the amount of tickets available. Daly stated that "We wish everyone could come and join us, but our event is uniquely small so that those that come can enjoy the intimate nature of the festival."

With an exciting line-up of international and national acts alongside entertainment in The Falls Arts Village running throughout the event (and with many more acts still to be announced), it is set to be a fun-filled summer-sojourn.

If you are still keen to secure tickets (and why not - it actually works out cheaper to fly to Tassie than pay the petrol prices to Lorne) go to www.fallfestival.com and follow the links.

Ever wished you could have been there when Jimmy Hendrix and Bob Dylan used to jam at New York’s "Café Wha", or witnessed Otis Redding as he blew all the flower power people out of their minds at Monterey Pop Festival in 1967?
