Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg - Australian Tour 2009

|
Marc Bell started honing his skills on the skins in the 1970s with
Brooklyn hard rock band Dust, before joining Wayne County to form Wayne
County and the BackStreet Boys.
Wayne’s outrages on stage antics and cross-dressing attracted fans’ attention and gained them a cult following.
A
year and a half later he joined Richard Hell, Bob Quine and Ivan Julian
to form Richard Hell & The Voidoids, releasing their groundbreaking
debut album, ‘Blank Generation’ on Sire Records in 1977.
It
was a support tour for The Clash with The Voidoids that lead him to
meet Dee Dee Ramone, who invited him to join the seminal punk rockers,
and in the spring of 1978, Marc Bell became Marky Ramone.
A
couple of weeks later, The Ramones entered the studio to record ‘Road
to Ruin’, featuring the single ‘I Wanna Be Sedated’ which became one of
the band’s most well known tracks. And the rest, as they say…..is Rock
‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame worthy history.
With a career spanning
over 30 years, spent sharing stages across the world with some of the
most influential musicians of this modern era and making countless
albums and numerous films, Marky Ramone is showing no signs of slowing
down.
With his new band Blitzkrieg, featuring ex-Misfit
Michale Graves on vocals, in toe; he will invade Australia in April
2009 for a national tour, playing set lists full of Ramones favourites!
