While most will suggest there is nothing more exciting than the release of a new Bond film, as the resident Web Wombat Music guru - I have to disagree. In fact, there actually is ONE thing better than the release of a new James Bond movie...

A new James Bond movie song! And what a ballbuster this latest one is...

"Another Way to Die", performed by Jack White and Alicia Keys, is the latest theme song to the latest James Bond film Quantum of Solace - which has currently set the Box Office on fire across the globe. Produced and written by White (best known from his band The White Stripes), the freakishly pale rocker also plays guitar and drums on the track and marks the historic first duet in the Bond film series.

Interestingly enough, it almost wasn't to be.

It has been reported that Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse recorded a demo track for the film, but Winehouse's well publicised legal and drug related issues in the weeks leading up to putting the track down in the studio led to her "not ready to record any music at that time".

Wow, talk about a wasted opportunity!

The Memphis Horns also contributed to the track, hired largely due to White's favourite Bond theme being John Barry's instrumental piece for On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and he watched various opening credit sequences from the series for inspiration while mixing the track.

This one is a corker, and goes a long way to making us all forget that Madonna ever existed...
