Geraldine Hickey - Swings and Roundabouts :
Melbourne International Comedy Festival
By Lisa Dib
"Sup, f**kers?".
This is Geraldine Hickey, greeting her audience. Even the thickest of
two-brick headed types could tell this wasn't going to be a "men are
from mars, women want shoes" type of show.
Hickey, despite (or rather,
thanks to) her coarse language and creamy bogan centre, is a
terrifically funny storyteller and burgeoning stand-up mainstay.

Geraldine Hickey - Swings And Roundabouts |
Between stories of how the girl guides got started (two words for you :
sock puppets), loft bed lovemaking, fantasy husbands and some bloody
admirable beer sculling, Hickey proves how little bells and whistles
you need to be a great stand-up comic.
Her laidback confidence and friendly banter are what is decidedly rare
in stand-up these days; even when chatting nonchalantly about the
uselessness of fisting and cringe-worthy childhood injuries.
