Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings (PS2)
Fast build
When building structures, press on the building that is being
built and click the construction button repeatedly to speed
up building process.
Japanese
If you are playing with the Japanese, then a good way to destoy
enemy buildings is to get some hand canoneers (about ten)
from your archery range.
Then place them near to an enemy building. Get about three
siege weapons and place them behind your hand canoneers. The
siege weapons will attack the building and if anyone tries
to attack them, your cannoneers will kill them quick smart.
Random Map Games
Select your civilisation, color, and when you can pick
teams, put all of them on the same number as you, for example:
You: Briton
CPU: Celts
CPU: Chinese
CPU: Japanese
Select the hardest difficulty big map and large resources,
then start the game.
Check your dipolmacy and see your allies - this will make
it easy for you to collect resorces in any base without any
hassle.
How to win? Select diplomacy and go to war with any one.
General Tactics
If you start on a campaign, save it first, then send a scout
to look around the area and then load the game again and build
a wall around the area you want.
Always send lots of men into the city to destroy it - don't
send a trebuchet to destroy the towns' buildings one by one
or the trebuchets will get destroyed so send 30-40 men to
guard them.
Wonders
Trebuchets are a awesome weapon when used as long range artillary
and when gaurded with troops, which work well when you need
to destroy their town centre or wonder.
Do not start building a wonder until you have a big army
as they do tend to want to destroy it. When new to the game
set the game on conquest so they don't just build a wonder
and win.
Skirmish Tactics
When playing a battle with multiple CPU players, try to stay
away from your cpu opponents until you have a good stash of
resources and a large army. The cpu players can be relentless
in their attack, especially on harder difficulty levels, so
it's best to concentrate on base defense to start with, then
attack with a large mixed force.
