27/Feb/2007 Just read Thomas Machuca's article. Would like to ask him a question.... I too have two PS3's... I on the other hand have a large family, so I need the two running at the same time, different rooms. What my question would be.... can you get the two PS3's to look at each others hard disc's for media? I've tried to use the "media search" but can only see media on my computers. Would appreciate your comments. Regards,
- Robert Cheslin Thomas Machuca's Note:
As far as I know you can't do what you are wanting to do. Your PS3 can
see what's on your PC, your PC can't see what's on your PS3, but a PS3
cannot see what's on another PS3. If
you want to be able to access the same media on both PS3s, I would
suggest moving that media onto the PC. I fill my hard drives up quickly
on my PS3s so occasionally I transfer media from my PS3s to my PC and
if I want to watch them I just watch it streamed from my PC to either
of my PS3s, alternatively I can now watch it on my PC as well. Hopefully
in the future there might be an update to support what you want to do,
but I wouldn't hold your breath. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
27/Feb/2007 I love pigs, and really want to get Crazy Pig on the Nintendo DS, but my local Electronics Boutique doesn't have it. Can you help? - Samwise Editor's Note: Can we help? Um, yes! The kind folks Mindscape have agreed to supply a free copy of
the game, so we'll send that off to you as soon as we get it. We
asked Mindscape (the company that distributes the game in Australia)
about the release dates and they said you should be able to get it from
Toys R Us and JB HiFi at the moment, and that it will be in Target by
Mothers Day (11th May). Not that you need to now.
24/Feb/2007 I just wanted to let you know that the cheats/walkthrough for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (PS2) is wrong. I think
you must have the wrong format because there are 101 wizard cards, not
24. Some of the extra games you mention arent in the playstation 2
format (puffskin eating for example) etc. - Orange Juice Alex (UK) Editor's Note: Thanks for the heads up Mr Alex. We'll look into it.
21/Nov/2007 I just love Web Wombat!! I get all my Sims PS2 cheats here! THANKS HEAPS WEB WOMBAT!!!! I
need help with The Sims 2 Pets. I usually know everything about The Sims
on PS2 but my new game has proved me wrong. My cat keeps having baby's
with other pets! What can i do? I would be mostly thankful if you could help! - Flower Girl Editor's Note: Thanks for the kind words.
Well, I'm not sure that you can easily stop your cat reproducing with
other pets. They're very difficult to control, as you probably know.
21/Nov/2007 In your guide here you say "destroy the mech with only melee weapons". What does melee mean, and what is the mech? Thankyou, - Kiki Blue Flames Editor's Note:
Mr Flame, melee is a French word that basically means anything close
range. A melee weapon (pron: may-lay) is another that doesn't shoot.
Like a sword, or a chainsaw, or a power fist - anything close range.
The Mech is a robot bad guy. Hope it helps!
21/Nov/2007 I'm
looking at your directions about how to find Beedle's Masked Ship (in
Zelda PH) and at the 10000th time there is not any "masked ship" just
the same one allll the time. Please help me.
Thanks, - Yuval Will Barker's Note:
G'day Yuval. I'm playing through the game at the moment (review soon!)
and I'm tending to think that the instructions listed on our cheats
page are bogus. I'm gonna slap Erik a few times when he's next
conscious, and hopefully we'll update the Zelda DS cheats page with
something more concrete.
21/Nov/2007 Hello Games Channel Wombat freaks.
Just read Will Barker's review of Call of Duty 4
on the Xbox 360 and wanted to say it was a good review. Little bit
strange in part, but informative. Keep up the good work and don't stop
being a f**ked up weirdo Barky. - Jok Will Barker's Note:
Wow! What a kind letter. It was going so well until you insulted me by
calling me Barky. I mean, what kind of name is Jok anyway? Are you a
herbivore of some sort who regularly helps out at school festivals
because you like the smell of urinal biscuits? Hey, you know what, it
was rhetorical. I don't need an answer.
20/Nov/2007 Could you please get some cheats for Star Wars: Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles? I am desperate. - Zee Editor's Note: Sure thing. Just click this link.
20/Nov/2007 My
name is Troydon Maltby. I tried your new Transformers cheats (2007). I
followed all the instructions and they didn't work. I tried again and
nothing happened could you help me with this problem? Please do what
you can and could you email me back. Thank you. - Troydon Editor's Note:
Thanks for the email Troydon. Erik the cheats guy fell over and hurt
his head real bad a few months back and it's kind of difficult
communicating with him. He kinda just drools and nods. We've been
reliably informed that the cheats work, so just keep trying.
9/August/2007 I need help in inputting the cheat for Rome: Total War to create unit. I need some example of how to input. Thanks. - Marioc Editor's Note:
Thanks for the email Marioc. I spoke to Erik and he shrugged, which
could mean anything because he doesn't speak very good 'England' in his
own words. Anyone out there that could shed some light on the topic for
Marioc? Send us an email and we'll publish it here.
9/August/2007 PSP cheats. Primarily Prince of Persia: Revelations and mc3: DUB Edition. - Crawford Editor's Note:
I'm guessing you were in a hurry when you sent us this email Crawford.
You forgot to say please... But that's okay, because we don't have
cheats for either game, but we did find some hints for Prince of
Persia. See the cheats page for more.
8/August/2007 I saw Transformers the other day. Great movie. - Hansen Will Barker's Note:
Do you realise you are talking about a movie? And this is the Games
Channel?? Movies are a few channels over. But I must admit, I too have
seen this film and thought it was quite good. There were some amusing
moments in there too. Autojerks, roll out!
20/July/2007 Hey this is probably really
stupid... but i bought Farcry for PC, the Aussie $19.95 "Thats Hot"
version and I can only get the map change cheats to work. It's really
frustrating me 'cos the game is soooo damn hard. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,
- Rodney Will Barker's Note:
I remember playing Farcry. I didn't review it because at the time I was
developing a new range of BB-guns for the Norwegian navy. My Malaysian
supplier got arrested
and it all fell through. I was lucky to avoid a conviction, actually...
But anyway, Farcry. Yes, I remember it being quite difficult, but heaps
of fun. It turns out the cheats for the game were slightly, um,
subnormal. Erik the cheats nerd has uploaded a new list of cheats that
should work - and I've included what we call a 'hypertext linkage' so
you can go there now: Farcry cheats.
19/July/2007 Enter The Blu-ray Dragon! Gday. Have the issues been resolved for this [Dragon's Lair] game on our Oz PS3's? I'm finding it quite disappointing. Starting from other scenes etc... Not a flowing game at all! - Chris Editor's Note:
Thanks for the email Chris. The errors that occur on the PS3 with the
Dragon's Lair Blu-ray are still persistent, according to our latest
reports. We haven't had the chance to test the game on a standalone
Blu-ray player yet, but it's supposed to work.
1/June/2007 Lovin' the cheats, but you don't do many reviews. How come? - Bastille Will Barker's Note:
You expect me to divulge all our trade secrets, here on this very web
page? Surely you jest... I will concede the cheats are loved by many
gamers, myself included, but as for the reviews? "How come?" as you
phrase it? Well, sometimes there are more important things in life than
writing these so-called 'reviews' and sometimes people have mental
breakdowns that cause them to do very bad things. And sometimes people
just get lazy =)
31/May/2007 Hi.
I am on The Sims game and all my friends have it too. I checked out my
friends one and it turns out that they have loads more cool stuff in
the 'buy catalouge' than me. How can I unlock these and when will you
do some more cheats please? - Lil' Miss Candy Floss Will Barker's Note:
Well, you have to play through the game to unlock more catalogue stuff,
or buy one or more of the addons, but you'll need physical
currency for that.
As for more cheats, we do these pretty regularly, except for next week,
when I go to Laos on my annual po... Bicycling trip. Yes, I love
bicycles.
31/May/2007 Where can I get the complete listing of the original PGR's playlist??? - Anankin's Fury Will Barker's Note: Thanks for the email, even if you are only an emotion. Ultimately, your question is kind of like "What's the meaning of life?"
News flash - no one cares! That said, if you meant Project Gotham
2, still can't help. Sorry. But if you meant Project Gotham
Racing 3, you could go here.
12/Apr/2007 Are you guys going to do PS3 or Wii reviews? I have both systems and would like to know what you think. - Skeely Editor's Note:
At present one of contributors has a PS3, but he has indicated he will
be locked up tight for another month or two. We will get some PS3
coverage, but at this stage we're still trying to figure how to pay
back the loan needed to buy the thing. As for Wii - we don't have one
yet. Which sucks. But if we get one, we'll be sure to start reviewing
games.
10/Apr/2007 These cheats are rubbish and I tried them at main menu and nothing happened. - T.C. Editor's Note:
Another satisfied customer. T.C., if you would be so kind as to detail
which cheat exactly it was that didn't work, we may be able to better
sort out the issue. Otherwise it could take us a while - the evidence
you provide is somewhat thin.
19/Mar/2007 Sandra's articles are different, and good, but where's the game reviews? Need reviews. - David Peterson Editor's Note:
We have an excuse -- we've all been on holiday. But now we're back from
our various vacations and we're getting down to some hard(ish) work. We
should have a review published before you say "July already?"
19/Mar/2007 Your
cheats for '24 The Game' (PS2) will not work. You have to press square
button after you finished putting in code, then it will change colour
then then cheats will work. - Meme Editor's Note: Thanks for the heads up Meme - I'll make sure the cheats get amended post haste.
19/Mar/2007 Hi. I'm having trouble with FFXII.... I've looked everywhere but I cannot find where or who to get/buy the "teleport stone". What do I do? Please help, - Tush Editor's Note:
I spoke with Erik about this issue and he shrugged his shoulders. So I
slapped him. Then I made him do my tax accounts. Sorry about that Tush,
but if anyone out there knows anything about the teleport stone, drop
us an Email and we'll print the answer here, and also on the cheats page.
12/Jan/2007 I just read William Barker's Lost Planet
review. My question is simple. Macross [Robotech] is one of my
favourite animes in the world and I'm seriously considering this game
because of the transforming robot stuff. But I want to know, how much
robot fighting is there, because if the game is split something like
10% robot and 90% of the time on foot, I don't think it's worth my time. - Tang Will Barker's Note: Tang,
a frightfully good question that. To give you a basic answer, I'd say
about 30% of the game is spent in Vital Suits (the robot killing
machines), but as you get better at the game you can actually keep them
alive and running for longer, so you could potentially extend that
figure to maybe 40% when you get better at the game. Otherwise, just
rent the game and see for yourself. Now you'll have to excuse me, I
have a phone call to make and riddles to solve.
11/Jan/2007 I
have finished NFS Carbon (100% showing in career mode) and got the
message that I have unlocked the boss's Audi supercar. Yet I cannot buy
it in the career mode or add it to my garage in Quick race mode. Please
tell me where is my Audi. - Sales Editor's Note: Good question mate. I spoke to Erik the cheats guru and he doesn't have a clue. Some
guru, huh? So, I also spoke to Will Barker and he says that maybe you
should clear out your garage? It's worth a try, but save your game
before you do it, just in case. Otherwise, give EA a call and ask to
speak to their cheats or help desk.
11/Jan/2007 I have
recently have been getting cheats from your site, and I have come to
discover that many cheats are wrong. Please review your cheats
selection. Yours sincerely, - William Hughes Editor's Note:
Thanks for the email William. We understand that not all cheats are
perfect, especially because some versions of games in some countries
have slightly different coding as well, which means a cheat that works
on the American version of Gunstar Heroes may not work on the
Australian version. We also have this disclaimer at the top of the cheats page: "These cheats can unlock new areas, give
you new powers or simply get you past difficult levels. However, we
can't guarantee that all will work flawlessly
and, of course, the very
nature of cheats may reduce gaming happiness." It's a bit of a cop out,
but we simply don't have the resources to check every cheat. If there
are ones you know that are 100% incorrect, let me know and we'll edit
them appropriately.
15/Dec/2006 Guess what Games Channel people?
I am one of the 32,000 people who bought a Nintendo Wii in the first
four days of release (now a record, beating the Xbox 360s record by a
couple of thousand). It's really cool, and the magic wand controller,
or Wiimote, works very well - I didn't realise how intuitive it could
be. The tennis game and baseball games are cool, but my favourite is
Red Steel. IGN says it sucks, but what do you guys think? - Dave Kingston Editor's Note:
G'day Dave, and yeah, we've played the system but we don't own one yet
- they're all sold out until February!! But we have our own means of acquisition...
When we get our hands on one we'll start reviewing the games for the Wii,
because with more than 32,000 people already owners, there's a decent
market for them in Australia already. We haven't played Red Steel yet,
but it certainly looks to be one of the more visually impressive games
on the Wii.
14/Dec/2006 I thought Will Barker's review of NFS: Carbon was pretty good in general, but he says, and I quote: "But this is the NFS
franchise, and in my opinion it'll only return to its glory days when
the physics engine is made more realistic and when the millions of
dollars spent on hiring models and actors to appear in worthless
productions to further the story are cut from the game." News
flash dude - some gamers like the movie stuff as it helps draw you into
the game, and if you look at sales figures, this game is doing
great business. Perhaps Mr. Barker is representative of a dwindling
minority of 'core' gamers who are becoming less relevant. As Napoleon
once said, “Ten people who speak make more noise than ten
thousand who are silent.” - Red Rider Will Barker's Note:
You wanna know what else Napoleon said? He said you're a dickhead,
that's what. Okay, maybe that was harsh, and I'll try to not to take it
so personally. I suppose you make a fair point. Perhaps I am part of a
dying breed of gamer, but at the same time, if we didn't make noise,
the money men and the publishers wouldn't listen and we'd all be
playing Crazy Frog games.
22/Nov/2006 RE: Ford Racing 3. Did you look at this Frackonagahye? The
author doesn't know his Fords from shit. He describes the third
screenshot as the old Mustang next to the Aussie Falcon. Wrong, wrong, WRONG!!! It is the old Mustang next to the 1970 Mach I Mustang. Do I have to do everything myself? - Mr. Bourne Editor's Note: I like your style Bourney. Want a job in online publishing??
21/Nov/2006 Hi,
I'm having trouble getting passed level 18. Could you please help me?
I've done the level about 10 times. I'm getting very frustated... Here's hoping
- Bev Editor's Note:
Thanks for the email Bev. What game are you talking about? Let me know
and I'll ask Erik the cheats guru if he knows an easy way past this
level. He's pretty cluey on these things. Spends most of his time on
forums and google groups.
9/Nov/2006 In the cheat Roller Coaster
Tycoon 2 there is another cheat: build a toilet next to a roller
coaster and put the price "high". It's a good money making scheme! - Liam Editor's Note: Thanks for the hot tip Liam. I'll make sure the Erik the cheats editor includes this one.
9/Nov/2006 Yo.
I gotta question. Is the Wii worth buying? I'm tossing up between an
Xbox 360 and a Wii for my early Christmas present. What do ya reckon? - MetalMask Editor's Note:
Looking at the launch price of the Wii at $400 in Australia, I'd say go
for the Wii. It'll have a decent amount of launch titles here, and
while the graphics aren't quite as good as the 360's (there's no HDTV
support, only 480p), it's still got Internet capability, and the new
control system is very cool. Playing videogame tennis and golf will
never be the same again. I'd say test them both and see which you
prefer. Nintendo is currently going round the country with its Play Wii
tour. Click this link to find out when it's near you.
8/Nov/2006 Hi.
I can't get the yaycars cheat on my PS2 to work it - is supposed to
unlock all cars but all I get is a police siren noise. Is there another
cheat to unlock all cars on the PS2 'Cars' game? Kind regards, - Stephen Editor's Note:
Our cheats editor, Erik, says that he has no idea. He said that the
police siren noise means that something has been activated when you
enter the code (or possibly deactivated?).
31/Oct/2006 Dear Web Idiots, How
can you call yourself a legitimate Games Channel when you have
that fool William Barker ranting about everything BUT the games. We're
here for the latest on the games - not to hear someone's mentally
constricted internal monologue gone mad! Good cheats though. Keep up the good work. - A. Maesing Ming
24/Oct/2006 Just a quick
letter. I agree with Franz. Will Barker is a tool. I like the website,
just get rid of that moron and then everything will be better. Regards, - Jaxx
Will Barker's Note: Oh look, the Editor's away today... That means I
get to answer the letters. Well, thanks for the mail Jaxx, and I'd just
like to say that I may be a tool, but at least I'm not a piece of shit.
That goes for you too Franz. In other news, I rool.
17/Oct/2006 Hi. I've been
videogaming since the early days in the late 1980s (Atari) and then hit
the NES in the early '90s and then pretty much gave it all up for PC
and online gaming shortly after. Counter-Strike is one of my favourites
at the mo', and I spend too much time on Age of Empires when I should
be working. So I wrote in today to say that you guys have a cool games
web site. It's not as stacked with info as IGN and others like that,
but at least it's Australian and your reviews are always honest. Also, I'd like to ask what games you guys play in your spare time? Regards, - Shel-Belle
Editor's Note: Thanks for the
email Shel, and it's true that we can't compete with the big boys in
the games media industry, but we do enjoy what we do, and try to be as
honest as possible. Games we play? I'm into Dawn of War (Warhammer 40k)
on the PC at the moment. Found it at a PC swap-meet for cheap, and
especially online it's a great tactical workout. Will Barker plays
about five different versions of Texas Hold 'Em Poker (he really is
addicted) and is currently working on a Saints Row review on the Xbox
360. Thomas Machuca is still loving LEGO Star Wars II, and I must admit
I do enjoy a bit of co-operative play too.
10/Oct/2006 Hi guys, Just
wanted to say that the cheats and tips are great, but I think you need
to update your review pages on Xbox or add a separate section for Xbox
360. Your reviews are spot on and I use them to determine what games to buy. - Ben
Editor's Note: Hello Ben, and
thanks for the kudos - it's nice to get a pat on the back once in a
while. We're all glad you like the reviews and the cheats, and as for
Xbox games I'll get someone on that right away. Any games in particular
you've been thinking about that we could review? I'll get Mr Barker to
investigate (which is a bit worrying...).
5/Oct/2006 Hi
guys. Always been a
fan of the Games Channel, and even since the GameBlitz days! You don't
seem to be reviewing many games much (what about Saints Row, or
Nintendogs?), but the cheats still seems to be updated regularly, and
lately they seem to be peppered with bizarre bits of useless trivia and
philosophy. I actually never really read the reviews anyway, but keep
up the good work. - Slinkster L7
Will Barker's Note:
Thanks for the feedback mate, and yes, I remember the GameBlitz
days. That's when I just a newbie. Cool. Oh, and here's a tip - take a
long walk off a short pier, pal. You sicken me. Have you ever tried
getting titles from games companies for free? They treat web sites like
shit. It's very difficult getting games to review, and I'll have you
know that I also review DVDs, so there's more to me than just games.
And as for the cheats bit, we've got a new cheats dude.
4/Oct/2006 Will
Barker is an Xbox fanboy, and if I meet him I'll spit in his shrivelled
face. His review of Forza
Motorsport was rubbish. He bags PS2 and the Gran Turismo
series and he knows nothing. That loser should get a life! - Franz Editor's Note:
Franz, I couldn't agree with you more. I've had to work with Will for
seven years now, and he still gives me the shits. However, I
must
disagree with your Xbox fanboy comment. He's also an Xbox360 fanboy.
4/Oct/2006 Hello.
I was trying for the Sims 2 cheats to work, but I can't get it to work.
What should I do? - Mia Will Barker's
Note:
The best bet is to douse your PC with a highly flammable fluid, such as
petroleum, and then cram it into your oven (you may need a chainsaw to
make it fit) and bake it for about 50 minutes at a very high heat. |
