Jewelix is a crafty little puzzle game that's a bit different to its contemporary casual games. You begin the game attending your great
uncle Pierre's fuenaral -- in Paris of all places. It's supposed to be the
country of love! Anyways, you are approached my a man that
hands you a note from your great uncle that states he has left
the family jewellery store to you and one thousand dollars to kick start
you in the quest of returning the store to it's former glory. What a nice bloke! The game revolves around you making jewellery that you sell to customers - some are picky and some know what they are after. So
making the jewellery is the aim of the game and this is where the puzzle element comes in to play. You have a swivel jewel 'shooter' that has two slots
that are loaded with gems
and the aim is to shoot the jewel to match four or more of the same
jewels that are slowly travel along the indented jewellery paths. Now
this may not sound like much but, the harder levels are quite
rewarding and some of the levels have up to 10 rows of jewels to clear and
can become very hectic. The
gameplay can be very addictive,
because every time you play you want to make it to the next level
there's another and another after it. There are 50 levels in total
with 100 pieces of jewellery to create, which keeps you
coming back for more. In addition to making fancy jewellery you can sell it to customers
that come in looking for that special piece. Customers have a
'happiness' meter so be sure to keep them happy or they won't come back to buy your jewellery you spend lots of effort making... After
landing a successful sale you have the option of upgrading your store,
because lets face it good old uncle Pierre left the jewellery store in a
bit of a shambles. Some of the upgrades include new ceilings, wall
cabinets, and even floor lining. The graphics are pretty good for
a downloadable game, with vibrant colour and detailed but smooth 2D visuals. The slight
details in the store are quite charming as well. Jewelix is a very additive game and is sure to burn many hours just trying to make it to the next level. Game: Jewelix
