Season Match 2 is not a football game. Let's get that out of the way. The 'season' in Season match 2 refers to spring, summer, winter and autumn.

It's a bright and relatively fun game with all the bling that you would expect from a puzzle game.

But does it measure up?

At first I was hesitant about the girly characters and the bright colours, but playing for the first time, I found Season Match 2 to be addictive.

Like most puzzle games floating around these days, the main object is to match up three or more of the same icon to make up combinations that explode, clearing the boxes and adding to your score.

Clear all the boxes, defeat the guard and collect the artifact in the middle of the game screen to clear the stage and move on to the next level. It's a simple set up but is strangely relaxing and rewarding.

Between stages there is a bonus stage that requires you to find hidden items i.e. butterflies, droplets of water and potion bottles on a castle/house map (the middle screenshot). When you have the time limit set 'on' (you can turn it off) this can be very challenging: some items may be obvious but others are cleverly hidden.

The story of Season Match 2 revolves around a Snow Queen who has frozen the kingdom. You have to outwit her guards in your search for the magical artifact that can restore the seasons. Naria, *cough cough*.

So really you just have save the kingdom from a frosty demise in this fairytale puzzler.

To my mind it's kind of lame stuff - give me Wolverine anyday - but hey, the gameplay isn't that bad and it can keeps you playing for a long time.

Sound and graphics wise? Not too bad.

The on screen colours and visuals look fantastic for a 2D puzzler and clearing a large number of gems or icons if you can be cool, lighting the screen up with stars and butterflies (very cool!).

The sound effects were clear, the music wasn't too bad (it didn't ring in my head like most games of this nature) and just played calmly in the background. Not the best puzzler ever, but not the worst either.
