Alexa Chung

We spend a lot of time looking at fashionistas of utter perfection, of unbeatable seduction. Let's face it, we tend to concentrate of butts, boobs and... well... more boobs. But every so often we realise that internet crushes aren't just about sex, sometimes they can be about a weird sort of crushing, inexplicable love.
My boyfriend knows all too well that I have girl crushes on Mischa Barton, and I happlily accept that while he never wants to sleep with Rashisa Jones - he would very much like her to be his wife. It's something we've come to accept between us and feel it's something of an unspoken category of crush... the "so pretty it hurts" crush.
That's what brings us to the gorgeous and sweet Alexa Chung.
Alexa was born in November of 1983, a year in which M*A*S*H aired to 125 million people, Cabbage Patch Dolls became a worldwide phenomenon and the Hitler Diaries were discovered to be forgeries. Yeah, it was a biggie. In the small town of Privett in Hampshire, England, Alexa became the youngest of four kids of a graphic designer and a homemaker.

For those wondering where those stunning, simple, looks come from... it's thanks to the greatest combo the world has ever see... the Eurasian! Yes, Alexa's father is part Chinese, and her mother, English. Seriously, it's the best combo anyone could find... and if China continues it's run as the next world power, we might see more and more super spunks taking over the world.
Chung went to Perins Secondary School and was soon scouted by a modelling agency which lead to her choosing to pursue modelling. She modelled for everyone from teen magazines (Elle Girl, CosmoGIRL!) to companies like Fanta, Sony Ericsson, Sunsilk and even Tampax (eeewwwww).
This string of modeling led to appearances in music videos for break out artists such as The Streets, Westlife, Delta Goodrem, Reuben and even Holly Valance. This coverage led to her being cast as Jake in one of those horrible scripted reality shows called Shoot Me.
However, Alexa soon came to her sense and after four years of selling the image of her face and body, Alexa Chung quit modelling with the aim of beginning an art foundation or fashion journalism course thanks to haveing the sort of "distorted body image" and "low self-esteem" that comes with the highs and lows of modelling.
However, by 2008 Chung returned to fashion via Antipodium's SS 2008 collection and Oxfam's range, Revamped. By September of 2008, she was strutting the catwalk as part of the Vivienne Westwood Red Label at London Fashion Week. Just when you thing you're out, they puuuuuuuuuuulllll you back in!
From there she did just about everything, thanks to joining Select Model Management, by popping up in campaigns for DKNY Jeans, SS10 Pepe Jeans London, Lacoste, 2012 London Fashion Week show for designer Stella McCartney to name a few.
Thhis new found boom led to her taking on the world of TV again by cohosting music show Popworld on Channel 4 and as a panellist on quiz show 8 out of 10 Cats. She also hosted a slew of T4 Movie Specials, 4Music Specials, T4 Holiday Mornings along with T4's coverage of many music festivals.
She made the move to the USA where she presented "It's On with Alexa Chung" for MTV which replaced TRL, but was cancelled in December of 2009.
As for her personal life, I'm afraid it's bad news boys! She's taken! Alexa Chung lived with photographer David Titlow (who was 20 years older than her) for about four years until their breakup in 2006. She quickly followed this up with a four year fling withArctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner... and now dates The Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr.
So, a word of advice, learn how to play guitar kids!
