Keith & Derek Brewer

It's extremely rare that Californian twins Derek and Keith ever show up to a new shoot on their own. You see, it seems as though the creative directors and fashion gurus agree that together, these two make the biggest impact.

And we tend to agree...

The story of these boys success starts with their passion for surfing. When Keith was young he was spotted on a pier, checking out the surf, by an acting manager and really, the twins took off from there. Keith mentioned he had a twin brother and now they're flying all over the world, partaking in new projects and fashion shows.

The lads have traveled all over the USA, where they were born, South Africa, France, Spain, Germany and even the Netherlands doing what they do best - modeling.

Derek and Keith were born 15 minutes apart, which would normally lead to a sad 15 minutes of fame cliche. Not today. Because Derek's older, does that mean he's always in charge when the pair are jetsetting around the globe? Well, we're not quite sure about that one, but his brother admits that Derek has a short temper. Perhaps he needs to take a few lifestyle cues from his brother Keith... and get married.

When talking to the twins, it's obvious that deep down these two guys are just surfie bums. Instead of talking big names and dropping places they've been to, brands they've appeared for, they talk about barrels, right-handers, perfectly pitching waves and the like.

Both get up at 6:30am every morning to check the surf and they also made mention that most of their travels are based around surfing. Sure, they go to the gym 4-6 times a week, eat a balanced diet and think happy thoughts, but at the end of the day, these guys like nothing more than floating around in the ocean.

They grew up by the beach and learnt to surf when they were just ten years of age. They have even surfed in competitions against some of the world's best, such as Rob Machado, Taylor Knox, Keith Malloy and Greg Browning. Quite impressive.

The Brewer twins aren't mimbos (male bimbo), either. Both studied the same class and scored almost identically: "We did very well in college. We graduated from California State University Dominguez Hills with degrees in Business (finance). Keith's overall college GPA was 3.62 -- Magna Cum Laude and Derek's was 3.57."

Excellent - now we can talk current affairs, politics and finance with the duo.

The twins are also keen snowboarders, having taken up the sport some time ago. "We both started about four years ago. We can still remember that painful day that it all started. It was spring time and the snow was icy and hard as a brick.

"We would get going for about five feet and Wham! The outside edge would catch, sending us flying head-first into the snow. We were both so sore that we rested for the whole next day. Just like in surfing, modeling has allowed us to pack our snowboards during various excursions."

So what more need be said about the Brewer twins? They surf, they snowboard and, defying the stereotype, they're not mimbos! The Brewer twins - gentlemen of the fashion world.
