Miley Cyrus

since the introduction of Britney Spears back in the days of yonder
(well, it wasn't really that long ago... let's just say : back in the
days when Jason Biggs wasn't a complete blight on the film industry)
has there been a pre-pubescent girl to have such an enormous effect on
the world.
And, I'm not just talking about popular to those "types" who
like that stuff... I'm talking about EVERYONE.
If it wasn't
enough for a child to live off the nest egg of their father - Miley
Cyrus (daughter of Billy "Achey Breaky Heart" Cyrus) is now one of the
richest and most powerful commodities in the entertainment industry.
TV, movies, DVDs - there is a fair chance she has some kind of slutty
clothing line named after her - along with some kind of skanky
fragrance as well.
It sure is sweet to be a the top isn't it?
Well...
it is... until some creep comes along and steals naked images of you in
the shower and sends it across the globe in a text message. Ah, the
information super highway: making the world lust for creepiness quicker
since 1995!
Born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992 in
Nashville, Tennessee (it seems she was a product of the "celebrations"
of her dads success) Miley Cyrus is the American actress and
singer-songwriter best know to millions of screaming fans as Hannah
Montana (yet another lucrative product of The Disney Channel).
Miley
became a sensation after the Hannah Montana show debuted in early 2006,
and by late 2007, she was already ranked seventeenth in the Forbes Top
Twenty Superstar Earners with an annual earning of $3.5 million.
Now,
when I was that age, I was working for $1 pocket money a week - and my
dad was a slave driver. Would Miley Cyrus even be aware of how many
mixed lollies can be purchased from a local milk bar for $1?
Perhaps
$0.80 of mixed lollies (and allows the remaining $0.20 for four musk
sticks - which set you back a ghastly $0.05 each!!)? Not on your life.
Just
imagine how many musk sticks that girl must eat! Who know, she might
even fork out for a Sherbert Bomb, or even a Killer Python every now
and then. The possibilities are truly endless.
But the $3 million
a year wasn't enough it seems - with Cyrus' solo music career beginning
with the release of her debut album "Meet Miley Cyrus".
Her second
album, "Breakout", was released in mid 2008 - they were the first
albums that strayed outside of the Hannah Montana franchise. Not
surprisingly, both albums debuted at #1 on the Billboard Charts.
It's
an amazing rise to the top when you consider that Cyrus was just twelve
years old when she originally auditioned for Disney for the lead role
of Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana, as well as the show's "best friend"
roles. And it almost wasn't to be - with Disney Channel executives
originally judging her to be "too small".
Obviously they hadn't seen the photos floating around on the net!
But
that's all in the past now. That fateful audition has led to countless
life experience including being invited to present the song "That's How
You Know" from the film Enchanted at the 80th Academy Awards.
She also
hosted the 2008 Teen Choice Awards, as well as the CMT Music Awards
with her father, plus appeared on the American Idol fundraiser show
Idol Gives Back, performing "Good and Broken" and "See You Again".
The
big news of late surrounds the rather odd decision of writing a book
about her life and career. The Disney Book Group bought the rights to
the book for a reported seven figure deal (with an initial printing run
of one million copies planned). Has she even hit puberty yet? What
could there possibly be to write about?
I know... LOVE!
In
the September 2008 issue of Seventeen magazine, Cyrus stated she was in
a relationship with Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, and that the two
"were in love". Aren't we all?
Of course, they broke up at the
end of 2007 - and like any good performer that knows how to make a
penny - she co wrote a song about him.
She sure might annoying to all us jealous gals in the office... but by gum... Miley Cyrus has had a pretty cool life!
