Paul Ippolito Talks Wines
With Paul Ippolito Hunter WhiteTerrace Vale Old Vine Semillon 2006
Alain
Leprince from this Hunter Valley winery has put this lovely Semillon
together. Lemons and limes abound along with a hint of grapefruit. All
delivered in a fresh clean crisp vibrant manner with hints of green
herbs as well. Lightly toasty on the mouth feel yet a touch steely as
well along with a crisp long finish. In its infancy still, drinkable
but will develop very well over the next 5 years or so.
Drink to 2013. About $20. 89/100 - Very Good.

Ripe
and forward red and black fruits – think mulberry, blackberry and
raspberries. Roasted meats, liquorice and dark chocolate play a
supporting role. Quite a robust upfront red with spicy fruits abounding
and soft ripe tannins. It finishes dry and would go well with roast
beef. Drink to 2017. About $20. 91/100 – Excellent. Wine Rating Scale - Out Of 100 Points98-100 – Exceptional – A truly world class wine 95-97 – Superb – A memorable drinking experience 91-94 – Excellent – A wonderful mix of a top wine at a decent price 88-90 – Very Good – Really well made wine that should impress 85-87 – Good – Honest everyday drinking
