Wine review

Matua Valley Shingle Peak Sauvignon Blanc 2007

Classically varietal Marlborough fruit. Gooseberry, crisp green apple, ripe pears and yet with tropical nuances. Good lively fresh ripe fruit acidity accompanies the fruit, along with certain minerality and a crispness and elegance to the structure. Very easy drinking and very nice in style.

Drink Now. About $26. 92/100 – Excellent.

Marlargo Rose 2007

Succulent and luscious with red cherries, strawberries and raspberries abounding. A deep intense Rose` yet with good lively fruit and supporting fresh acidity. Melded well together and very delicious, this is a very good light to medium bodied food friendly wine. Try with hokkien noodles.

Drink Now. About $15. 88/100 – Very Good.
