German Rum Balls
Ingredients:
125g Unsalted Butter
375g Cooking Chocolate
125g Icing Sugar
3 Tablespoons Rum (Substitute: Vanilla)
20g Cocoa
Coconut or Chocolate Sprinkles
Method
- Melt butter and chocolate in a double saucepan.
- Add icing sugar, cocoa & rum (or substitute) and mix thoroughly.
- Place mixture in refrigerator (until mixture firm and easy to work into balls).
- Remove from fridge and roll into balls (roughly the size of a golf ball).
- (For variety place hazelnut or maraschino cherry in the centre of the ball).
- Spread coconut (or chocolate sprinkles) on to wax paper and roll balls until outside evenly coated.
Why should the kids have all the fun, this confectionary is reserved for adults. German Rum Balls (also called Rumkugel, Punschkugel or Truffel) are for child in us all.
