Honey Dumplings

Thank you Ann from WA for this tasty treat / dessert dish:

Ingredients for Dough

1 Cup Self Raising Flour
1 Tablespoon Butter
Milk
1 Egg

Ingredients for Syrup

1 Cup Water
½ Cup Sugar
1 Tablespoon Butter
1 Tablespoon Honey or Golden Syrup

Method for Dough

  • Mix all ingredients together with enough milk to make a soft dough

Method for Syrup

  1. Melt butter in saucepan and pour in remaining Syrup ingredients, stir till blended.
  2. Heat syrup until warm

Method

  1. Scoop spoonfuls of dough and drop into syrup.
  2. When enough balls in syrup cover saucepan with lid.
  3. Cook for 35 minutes.

Drain and serve as dessert with custard, cream or ice-cream.
