Lasagne With Bolognese / Bechamel Sauce
Ingredients
1 Packet Wide Pasta for Lasagne
Ingredients for Bolognese Sauce
2 Tablespoons Oil
3-4 Brown Onions
3 Tablespoons Tomato Paste
Bayleaf
¾ Teaspoon Oregano
900g Mince Beef
4-5 Cloves Garlic
1 Large Tin Tomatoes (Drained)
1 Teaspoon Basil
Salt & Pepper
Ingredients for Bechamel Sauce
950ml Milk
4 Tablespoons Butter
Parmesan Cheese
170g Swiss or Gruyere Cheese
1 Large Tablespoon Flour
Cayenne Pepper
Salt & Pepper
Method For Pasta
- Cook pasta in boiling salted water for 15 minutes.
- Drain and wash under cold water.
- Lay on towels separately to dry.
- When dry place a layer of pasta in an ovenproof dish.
- Spread a layer of Bolognese Sauce to cover pasta.
- Spread a layer of Bechamel Sauce to cover Bolognese Sauce.
- Repeat layers as many times as ingredients allow.
- Finish with a spread of Bechamel sauce.
- Heat in a moderate oven.
Method For Bolognese Sauce
- Heat oil and brown onion and meat in pot till meat browned.
- Add garlic, tomatoes, tomato paste, herbs, salt & pepper.
- Mix ingredients well and let simmer for 30 minutes.
Method For Bechamel Sauce
- Melt butter, add flour and slowly add cold milk in pot and keep stirring till mixture thickens.
- Add cheeses, salt & peppers.
- Let cheeses melt in sauce over low flame.
Serve topped with sprig of parsley.
