Paprika Schnitzel



Ingredients:

25g Butter
3 Onions (Sliced)
700g Veal (Thinly Sliced)
Paprika
¼ Cup Flour (Seasoned with Salt & Pepper)
¼ Cup Sour Cream (Thick)
2 Cups Rice

Method:

  1. Melt butter in hot frying pan.
  2. Add enough paprika to make the mixture rich red colour.
  3. Add onions and sauté until tender.
  4. Coat the veal steaks in flour and slowly place them in pan.
  5. Add the sour cream as the steaks brown.
  6. Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes or until tender.
  7. Add a little water if necessary and stir constantly.
  8. Add rice to boiling water till cooked, then drain.

Serve your Paprika Schnitzel on a bed of boiled rice and garnish with some mint leaves or a side serving of blanched long beans to add a dash of colour. This Schnitzel dish with a bit of bite serves 4.
