Pea & Bacon Soup
Ingredients:
½ Cup Pearl Barley
1¼ Cups Split Peas
2 Carrots (Diced)
1 Parsnip (Diced)
1 Large Onion (Diced)
1 Large Potato (Diced)
5 Stalks of Celery (Chopped)
450g Bacon Bones
110g Bacon Pieces (Chopped)
220g of Shank Meat
1.4 Litre Water
Method
- Place water in large pot.
- Add all ingredients to water.
- Cook until meat is tender and falls off the bones.
This is your traditional rich, thick winter soup. Pea & Bacon Soup is very filling and a stand-alone meal. Serve with lumps of crusty bread.
