Pea & Bacon Soup



Ingredients:
½ Cup Pearl Barley
1¼ Cups Split Peas
2 Carrots (Diced)
1 Parsnip (Diced)
1 Large Onion (Diced)
1 Large Potato (Diced)
5 Stalks of Celery (Chopped)
450g Bacon Bones
110g Bacon Pieces (Chopped)
220g of Shank Meat
1.4 Litre Water

Method

  1. Place water in large pot.
  2. Add all ingredients to water.
  3. Cook until meat is tender and falls off the bones.

This is your traditional rich, thick winter soup. Pea & Bacon Soup is very filling and a stand-alone meal. Serve with lumps of crusty bread.
