Have you ever been working out or pumping weights and thought to yourself "I wish I could do this underwater?" You're
not alone. The bright sparks at Dimension One Spas in the USA have
developed a very expensive but very cool spa-pool just for such
purposes. It's not cheap, priced at US$40,000, but it is unlike any other home gym ever made. Called
the AquaFit 19 Dual Temp spa, the American designed spa looks
simply astonishing and is perfect for low impact workouts as the lower
gravity of being under water reduces the stress on joints and bones. It
has 23 jets all up and can provide enough thrust to lift a small car
off the ground (not tested) or allow for stationary swimming. The
tub weighs 1590kg without water and once filled with 6550 litres of H2O
it weighs 8200kg, so installing it in a mobile home is not advised. As
well as two separate climate controlled areas - one for exercise, the
other a hydrotherapy tub for relaxation/warm downs - the workout
spa also features a range of full-body workout options: Stationary swimming
Underwater running system
Underwater rowing system
Adjustable
in almost every respect, it is believed that the AquaFit 19 Dual Temp
spa can ever recreate the El Nino weather patterns on a micro scale. Don't
worry about sweating profusely while you workout underwater because
there are some heavy duty filtration units built in to suck out and
filtrate the scum, sweat, and other dirty particles. Forget the home theatre system - this is where the real action is! Links:
