Coconut Rough Slice Recipe

Make your Coconut Rough Slice up the day before serving and serve them cold sliced into squares. This is fun food for your next children's (or adults) party if you're willing to forget the calories for a day.




  • 110g Butter
  • ½ Cup Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Golden Syrup
  • 2 Cups Self Raising Flour
  • ¾ Cup Coconut


  • ½ Tin Condensed Milk
  • 1 Teaspoon Butter
  • 1 Cup Icing Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Cocoa
  • 1 Cup Coconut
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence.




  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add syrup, then flour and coconut.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Press out in an oblong baking dish and bake in a moderate oven for 20 minutes



  1. Put all ingredients into a medium sized saucepan and mix well.
  2. Cook until thick but do not boil.
  3. Spread on base while both are warm.
  4. Allow to cool.
