Safety on the all-wheel-drive Volvo XC70 has been enhanced by the new Teknik package. This
added safety technology is available with both the refined new 158kW
twin-turbo diesel engine and the powerful 179kW 3.2-litre six-cylinder
petrol engine. The new Teknik pack adds Volvo Navigation System
(VNS), Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Active Bending Lights
(ABL) and power passenger seat, all bringing higher-still levels of
convenience and driving safety. These features add to Volvo’s
Side Impact Protection System (SIPS), dual-stage driver and passenger
airbags, inflatable side curtain airbags and Whiplash Protection System
(WHIPS) in the front seats. Other safety features of the XC70
include the next-generation City Safety. City safety is basically aimed
to help cars avoid collisions with other cars and pedestrians. Standard
equipment includes a High-Performance multimedia audio system with
7-inch colour screen and reversing camera. This adds to a comprehensive
standard equipment list that includes HDC Hill Descent Control,
full-leather trim, Volvo’s Private Locking system and Valder 17-inch
light alloy wheels. New LED mood lighting in the front floor area
and behind the unique floating centre console introduce a warm interior
ambience and there are new LED indicators in the door mirrors to better
warn approaching drivers when making a turn, while also giving a more
contemporary look. For outstanding all-weather security, the XC70
continues to drive all four wheels through Volvo’s six-speed adaptive
Geartronic automatic transmission. The standard XC70 3.2 litre
begins at $62,450 and $67,450 for the 3.2 Teknik. The XC70 D5 is priced
at $63,450 with the XC70 D5 Teknik priced at $68,450. <Back
