Turin, Italy – If
the boss over at Alfa Romeo ever finds out who took these photos of the
all-new new five-door Milano on their mobile phone and leaked them on
the famous networking site Facebook, I'm sure he will have a few choice
words to say.
The revealing surprise comes only days
after an initial leak on Friday, the photo gallery found its way onto a
Facebook group page showing the new Milano from several angles and even
a dashboard and centre console shot.
The five-door Alfa Romeo
Milano clearly takes some design cues from its smaller counterpart, the
Alfa Romeo MiTo, it also makes subtle references to the Alfa 8C
Competizione, with it's oval headlights and sharp bonnet and grille.
Looking at the vehicle from the rear you will notice that the Italian
designers have opted for a totally different design, especially when
looking at the rear tail lights.
Much like the 147
hatchback (which the Milano will replace) the rear door handles are
hidden in the door pillars, which give the vehicle a much smoother and
sleeker appearance.
Photos taken from
the interior show that the Milano will featuring an instrument panel
with two deeply set gauges at either side, a design feature that is
seen in most current Alfas.
The Milano will use the
latest version of the Fiat Group's C and D segment platform which is
known internally as the C-Evo. Details are still sketchy, but it is
said that the Milano will go on sale in Europe before the end of the
year or early 2010.
Sources say that the Alfa Romeo Milano
will come with a choice of several diesel and gasoline/petrol engines
including the Fiat Group's 1.4 litre TJet turbocharged engine in both a
90kW and 118 kW application.
To top-off the engine
range, we are likely to see a 1.75 litre turbocharged four-cylinder
producing somewhere in a vicinity of 150kW+. Related Links: - Alfa Romeo Mi.To (2009) - Alfa
