Audi TT RS S Tronic : First Look

Australia, Melbourne - Audi will debut their latest Limited Edition 7-speed S tronic TT RS model at this years Australian International Motor Show.

The 7-speed S tronic TT RS is a special limited edition model which only 45 units will be offered in Australia.

The Audi TT RS, the flag-ship TT model, is now available with Audi’s cutting-edge seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and $8,460 of additional extras at no extra cost.

This new transmission can change gears within just a few hundredths of a second, and are said to be silky smooth and incredibly comfortable: there is no perceptible interruption in the flow of power.

The S tronic transmission has also been designed for high efficiency at any and every speed. For example, seventh gear is configured as a high-geared overdrive which reduces engine speed at highway speeds, in turn cutting fuel consumption. The TT RS Coupé consumes an average of 8.5-litres of fuel per 100km on European combined cycle, and emits just 197g/km of CO2.

The driver can also choose between two fully automatic shift modes, and a manual mode where gears are changed using either the shift paddles on the steering wheel or with the selector lever.

Another highlight of the S tronic transmission is the launch control function, which aids in acceleration from a standing start, delivering maximum power with minimum wheel spin. This means the TT RS equipped with the S tronic transmission accelerates even faster than a manual transmission-equipped TT RS. The S tronic Coupé sprints from zero to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds before hitting a top speed of 250km/h (electronically limted).

The 45 Limited Edition model TT RS S tronic package includes:

- Black exterior styling package
- Metallic Paint
- 19-inch 5-arm Rotor design wheels in titanium finish
- Sports exhaust system
- Adaptive headlights
- BOSE sound system
- Extended leather interior package
- LED interior lighting package

These features represent $8,460 in additional value. The TT RS Limited Edition is available only with Audi's 7-speed S tronic transmission.

Powering the TT RS Limited Edition is a 2.5-litre five-cylinder TFSI engine delivering 250kW of power between 5400rpm and 6500rpm and 450Nm of torque between 1600rp and 5300rpm.

In conjunction with Audi's quattro permanent all-wheel drive and a high-performance chassis, the five-cylinder engine delivers an outstanding driving experience.
