 Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès

You'd need more than 1000 horses to get the power of the Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès

Not sure about the brown colour, but the wheels are certainly quite slick

The car prefers Hermès unleaded petrol

The doors handles have been remade in expensive and soft-wearing leather

If people don't know you're made of money by the car you drive, they can still redeem themselves by spotting your exclusive Hermès luggage and wallet

Not the prettiest super car ever made, it is however one of the most famous

Geneva, Switzerland — Just when you thought the world's most famous super car couldn't get any more audacious, the Hermès version breaks cover in Geneva. Mechanically the vehicle is the same as any other Veyron. It's powered by an 8.0-litre W16-cylinder engine force fed by quad turbochargers that allow for 736kW (1001hp) @ 6000rpm. It pumps out an aircraft-like 1250 Newton metres from 2200rpm which is channeled through an AWD system. Like
other Bugatti Veyrons, it'll reach 100km/h from standstill in a
sense-obliterating 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 407km/h (253mph). But the difference here is that fashion house Hermès (not to be confused with the Greek god Hermes) has played a part in customising the highly desirable sports car. Hermès
is widely regarded as the most prestigious fashion house on the planet,
with its silk scarfs and handbags being some of the most-sought after
fashion accessories with year long waiting lists. Bugatti and
Hermès co-presented the fruit of a new partnership in the
form of the Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès, andthe Fbg part of the car's name refers to the historic Hermès headquarters on the Rue du
Faubourg in Paris. According to the media release, the new model associates Bugatti's technical
performance with the expertise of Hermès and its craftsmen. In
partner-ship with Hermès, designer Gabriele Pezzini has married the
distinctive Hermès style to the legendary Bugatti Veyron 16.4,
magnifying the car’s personality. While
the car will function the same as any other Veyron, with radical power,
the look and feel is far more distinct as is the price:€1.55 million (A$2.53 million). As
well as a new exterior colour scheme (in ebony and étoupe, or
ebony and
brick), new eight-spoked polished aluminium wheels (branded with
the letter H), and a new look horseshoe radiator grille flanked by
ventilation slits, this particular Bugatti is upholstered in very expensive Hermès leather. And
not just any leather. Bull calfskin leather is used on the seats and
other areas of the car because their skin doesn't have the elastic
qualities of cows (which is needed for giving birth) and offers a
smoother, form fitting and more luxurious finish. The doors handles were styled to reflect those seen on Hermès luggage and the dashboard swaps brushed
aluminium for more bull calfskin. Hermès
has also tailored a wallet with its own niche in the glovebox, and the
leather-lined boot holds a specially-fitted "Toile
H" and leather case, which are hand-made by craftsmen from the
Hermès workshops.
Bugatti
and Hermès launched the new model at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show,
priced at €1.55 million (not including tax) and will be delivered
to customers late in 2008.
