Edo Competition
started with a man that goes by the name of Edo Karabegovic. Perfecting
his art form with vehicles from Ferrari and Porsche. Since 2000,
Christian Heitgreß has been the foreman and Director for the company.
The latest from the tuning firm,
introduces their new
performance and styling packages for the Ferrari California.
In
the years 1998, 1999 and 2000 Edo Competition won the Team Ferrari
Porsche Challenge. In 2001, after the end of the racing series, the
team built a simulation of a 996 GT3-R for the street company from the
99th cup Carrera. This is where the beginning of making individual
dream cars out of standard vehicles began.
The offspring
of the Ferrari 599, 612 and 430, was the open two-seater, named the
California Spider, Featuring a retractable aluminum hard top, this new
entry level model is among the latest sports car offerings
from
Maranello, making its debut at last years Paris Motor Show in October.
For
those of us lucky enough to own the California Spider, and wish to
further personalise the appearance and performance of this exceptional
sports car, Edo Competition are offering newly-developed wheel/tire
sets in 20 and 21 inches, that are available in several attractive
designs.
Customers can also have the
California Spider's
ride height lowered and/or the addition of a sports suspension system.
The sport suspension is fully adjustable, allowing for a custom
tailored
ride for cruising, spirited driving, or track.
Edo
Competition also offers an ECU recalibration package which boosts the
roadster's 8-cylinder engine output from 460 hp to 500 hp (367 kW) and
369 ft-lb (500 Nm) of torque. When combined with Edo's new high
performance exhaust system, with adjustable butterfly valves and custom
designed high flow catalytic converters, the California Spider
accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds before hitting a top speed
of 315 km/h (196 mph).
As with all Edo Competition
models, the company have set no limit to their customers’ imaginations,
with special interiors or lavish leather upholstery, individual
requests can be met.
