Holden Colorado replaces the Rodeo name, but is for all intents and purposes the same vehicle

Melbourne, Australia — GM Holden's new light commercial vehicle (LCV) has broken cover, the Holden Colorado. Replacing the Rodeo LCV, you would be forgiven for thinking Holden's new commercial ute is a face lifted Rodeo with a new name. As
well as the new look, and changes to the price tags, 4x4 diesel Holden
Colorado models will be able to tow a three tonnes of braked trailer. But why the name change? Isuzu
owns the Rodeo name and is expected keep selling the Rodeo in
Australia, but not from Holden dealerships, which is likely to cause
confusion among buyers. There will be an entry-level
Holden Colorado priced from $17,990 which doesn't include
air-conditioning. Pricing for the new Holden Colorado listed below
includes air-conditioning as standard: 4x2 Single Cab Chassis
DX 2.4 litre, 4-cylinder $19,990
LX 3.6 litre, V6 Alloytec $24,990
LX 3.0 litre, VCDi Turbo Diesel $27,990 4x2 Space Cab Chassis

LT-R 3.6 litre, V6 Alloytec $43,990
LT-R 3.0 litre, VCDi Turbo Diesel $45,990 As
the new price list shows, the entry-level engine is a 2.4-litre
4-cylinder petrol engine, while the range-topping petrol engine is
similar to the Holden Commodore's powerplant: an Alloytec 3.6-litre V6. Holden is also offering a 3.0-litre turbo diesel engine, outputting 360Nm @ 1800rpm and peak power of 120kW @ 3600rpm. There's
also a new 'sports' model, the Colorado LT-R, available with either
petrol or diesel engines and 4x2 or 4x4 drivelines, which
gets side steps, front
fog lamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, sports bars, soft tonneau cover, and a sporty interior fitout. The LT-R 4x4
models also get Bluetooth connectivity and Rear Park
Assist. GM
Holden's Marketing Manager, Teresa Basile, said the Holden
Colorado will appeal to buyers looking for a dual purpose work and
recreational vehicle. "The
Colorado is built tough with up to three tonnes of towing capability.
With over 30 combinations of model, powertrain, cabin, ride height and
body style, there’s a Colorado to tackle any job," Ms Basile said. "Colorado is also well equipped, with driver and passenger airbags
standard across the range, and ABS with EBD fitted to LT-R and all LX
4x4 variants. "The Colorado LT-R is the hero of the new range
with a long list of features, including sports bars, soft tonneau, side
steps and sports interior trim, to appeal to customers looking for the
best truck for work and recreation." Holden says the "powerful
light truck" will attract private and fleet buyers alike, with
car-like interior comfort, and high levels of performance and load
carrying capabilities and value for money. Some Holden Colorados have reached dealers already, and the new models will be offered across Australia in the coming months. Holden Colorado Colour Options: Alpine White
