Honda CR-Z Mugen Hybrid : First Look

United Kingdom - Making it's debut at next month's 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed is the Honda CR-Z Mugen Hybrid.

Honda (UK) and Mugen Euro in Northampton have joint forces to develope a hybrid that has power and handling dynamics to match the likes of the Honda Type-R.

The Honda CR-Z Mugen Hybrid features a supercharged iVTEC 1.5-litre and electric IMA (integrated motor assist) setup that produces 147kW of power and 245Nm of torque. This allows the supercharged hybrid to accelerate from 0-60mph (96 km/h) in just 6.6 seconds.

To help reduce weight the Honda CR-Z Mugen hybrid makes use of carbonfibre bonnet and doors, lightweight Mugen GP wheels, Recaro racing seats in the front and the rear passenger seats have been removed entirely.

Upgrades to the suspension include stiffer springs and five-position adjustable dampers, while stopping performance is thanks to four-pot callipers grabbing 320mm grooved and vented discs up front.
