South Carolina, United States - Indigen Armor has been a specialist in the design, engineering and manufacturing of purpose built armored vehicles and sub-system components for almost seven years.

The company consists of mechanical and design engineers, electrical technicians, welders, fabricators, mechanics and machinists who all work along side each other at a state-of-the-art prototyping and manufacturing facility in Indian Island, South Carolina.

Indigen Armor has been manufacturing purpose-built armored vehicles for U.S. Special Operations groups and Defense Venture Group for some time.

And now the latest designed, engineered and manufactured vehicle to be produced by the company is a Non-Standard Tactical Truck (NSTT) for commercial release.

The NSTT is an armored, 4-door, 4-wheel drive, turbo diesel pick-up truck. This truck is purpose-built, literally built from the ground up. The NSTT was designed to give soldiers greater mobility in a variety of terrains. The chassis, suspension, power train and armored occupant safety cell were engineered specifically to carry large payloads across rough landscape in hard to reach areas.

Indigen Armor say that the NSTT offers scalable armor packages to meet multiple threat levels. Its 6.0 turbo diesel engine runs on JP8 and other military diesel fuels. Internally transportable in an MH-47 helicopter, the NSTT can accommodate a variety of low-profile or overt tactical body styles. This allows the end user to change the vehicle's profile.

The NSTT can comfortably accommodate four operators with their combat gear, communications equipment, and C4ISR technology. Indigen Armor also add that it is perfect for special operations, defense, paramilitary and security organisations that require a reliable and robust off-road capability in high threat environments.

Indigen Armor have released this video of its latest creation in action. Some of the companies executives actually sat in the vehicle while it was being shot at with an AK-47 assault rifle.
