The Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder's roof is down

And this is what it looks like with the roof up (ugly)

Where's the gear stick? E-Gear destroyed it

Los
Angeles, America — Question: when does a bull change into a Spyder? Answer: when Lamborghini unleashed it's all new Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder in downtown Los Angeles.
The already sexy Gallardo now has even more sex appeal. What's that I
hear
you ask: “but how?” Well, by simply removing the
roof and allowing the world to see the rich and probably famous occupants.
So hold onto your wigs ladies because if you're in the mood
for hitting that top speed of 324km/h that Lamborghini claims,
top down or top up, you most certainly can. Just buy one, find a straight road, and nail the accelerator pedal.
Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini had this
to say: "The LP 560-4 is the best example of the Gallardo to
date and will
be a great contribution to Lamborghini’s future
success." Better
than the Gallardo coupe? We doubt that, as the Spyder is not as rigid
and wouldn't have quite as much mechanical grip, but I think what oldWinkelmann is saying is that it looks really sexy.
The new Gallardo Spyder comes with a 5.2-litre V10 engine delivering
417 kilowatts of power @ 8000rpm, which is 29kW more than previous models. Torque production is pretty decent too, with 540 Newton metres of twist, which is
delivered to all four wheels via the E-Gear automatic. Lamborghini
says the E-Gear transmission makes shift changes between gears up
to 40 percent quicker: goodbye clunky shifting,
hello green light drags! The E-Gear system doesn't even include
a gearstick - just a couple of buttons. Not sure if that's a good thing
or not, but it makes the interior look sharp and clean. The way I see it, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder can simply be described as a
stealth
bomber on holidays. It still maintains the sharp, straight, aggressively exotic lines of the Gallardo, just
minus the roof.
Coated in a glistening white paint, the machine exhibited at the L.A. Auto Show looks pure and untouched, just
waiting to be put through it's paces. The roof mechanism looks a bit weird, especially with the roof extended over the cabin, but overall it's a nice design. The black leather-wrapped
interior looks somewhat sinister, but whichever way you look at it this baby Lambo looks tough.
