- Lexus full hybrid LS 600hL flagship gains a range of
technological and styling improvements in 2010.
The
LS600hL now complies with the latest Euro V emissions standards and
will feature redesigned seating, new equipment, a new ECO driving mode,
and improved comfort and driving dynamics.
Featuring a new ECO
mode, which monitors and manages throttle response and performance of
the air conditioning system helps gain maximum efficiency for the
hybrid LS 600hL.
Furthermore, when the outside temperature is
20°C or higher, the air conditioning system automatically selects air
recirculation mode to reduce power consumption.
Repackaging of
the full hybrid system's battery into two sections of six and 14
modules has reduced its overall size and in doing so has
freed up
40-litres of boot space.
Combined, the LS 600hL 5.0-litre V8
petrol engine and 165kW electric motor produce a maximum 327kW of power
allowing the LS 600hL to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 6.3 seconds.
CO2 emissions and fuel efficiency are unchanged at
219g/km and 9.3-litres per 100km respectively on the combined cycle.
The revised model features a new four-bar grille
and front bumper with redesigned air intakes and fog lamps.
The headlamps have a new design and are finished
in Lexus' distinctive hybrid blue.
Other
styling updates include new door mirrors that incorporate twin LED turn
signals and puddle lamps, with chrome highlights and a rear lower
bumper design with vertical fins to smooth the airflow from beneath the
car.
The paint has a new Self-Restoring Coat treatment
that helps maintain a the vehicles finish.
Interior wise, the instrument binnacle has been
revised to include a new full colour, TFT LCD display.
A
new dial design features a three-ring analogue dial with a central
speedometer, a tachometer and coolant temperature gauge to the left,
and a fuel gauge and hybrid system indicator to the right.
A
display in the centre of the speedometer can be customised to display
vehicle information, turn-by-turn navigation instructions and hybrid
system status.
The EMV multi-display touch screen has large
switches and rearranged layout for the audio controls. The audio
switchgear has a new metallic finish, adding to the premium feel and
quality of the design.
The 19-speaker Mark Levinson Premium
Surround Sound System, fitted as standard in the LS 600hL, gives
7.1-channel surround sound on selected CDs and DVDs.
It also features a USB connection for MP3 players
which can be controlled via the touch screen.
The
rear seat entertainment package has been redesigned to offer greater
rear vision for the driver via a new slim-line rear DVD screen mounted
centrally from the roof.
