Tokyo, Japan
- Photos have surfaced of the mysterious Lexus IS CCS (Circuit Club
Sport) Concept car which was on display at this months Tokyo Auto Salon
show. The
bright orange and black paint scheme (similar too last years BMW M3
GTS) is quite in-your-face when taking into consideration the sedate
styling from Lexus in the past, but this performance-minded sports
sedan is breaking the mould. Just at a glance you instantly know
this is a track ready machine, much of the body has been rendered, but,
underneath is carbon fibre including the roof, rear splitter and rear
wing, front spoiler lip, the hood, side mirrors and the Lexus IS F's
engine cover as well. Much of the same can be see in the
interior, carbon fibre continues throughout with the door panels,
centre and lower console, steering wheel trim, and the transmission
lever, with the only exception being the two-tone bucket seats. Lexus
say the IS CCS is fitted with a stock 315kW 5.0-litre V8 which is seen
in the standard model, however, the IS CCS gains additional performance
enhancements like forged magnesium wheels with performance tyres,
carbon brake disks, sports suspension and a sport exhaust system with a
titanium muffler. In short the Lexus IS CCS looks grouse!
