Aichi, Japan - Donning the same crazy paint scheme as the Lexus IS-F Circuit Club
Sport Concept which made it's debut at this years Tokyo Auto Salon,
Lexus has released some photos of its LFA Special Edition.
The Lexus LFA Special Edition will be available in
Matte Black, Black, 'Whitest White', or Orange which is pictured on the
left.
Official reports say that the LFA Special Edition
will come with a fixed carbon fibre reinforced polymer spoiler and
front bumper Canards which are used to aerodynamically tune the
handling for the front of a car.
Lexus has not only changed the aerodynamics of the
car, they have also boosted the V10 engine's power output from 412kW
too 425kW, this is most likely achieved by a remapped engine management
system or revised exhaust system, while handling has been sharpened via a
'high-power-only' suspension system. In order to get that extra power
to the ground, Lexus has returned the Automatic Sequential transmission
and given the LFA Special Edition some light weight alloy wheels that
come wrapped in Haiguripputaiya rubber.
Retuning of the Automatic Sequential transmission
has slightly improved shift speeds, whereas the normal LFA shifts gears
at 0.2seconds, the LFA SE can shift gears at 0.15 seconds, ideal for
the weekend blast on the track.
Current pricing for the standard LFA is said to be
around $382,431AUD, excluding local taxes and fees. So, one can only
speculate how much the Special Edition LFA will cost. Related Links - Lexus
