Winnenden,
Germany
–
March 1, 1930, master
auto mechanic Erwin Lorinser founded an independent motor vehicle
garage. In 1974, Erwin Lorinser passed his constantly growing company
on to his son Manfred and made him general manager.
Since 2006 as a member of the
second Lorinser generation, Marcus Lorinser has
been in charge of running the company and continuing its success.
Lorinser are best known for their
customisation of
Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The company has customised and modified every
modern Mercedes, from the A-Class to the M-Class and even the
R-Class.
Two years ago, the German company
even tried their hand at the Smart Car.
Now, for the first time in
Lorinser's long history of customising cars, they have set their sights
on a Japanese model.
Even
though the company has various dealerships in 42 countries around the
world, its key sales markets are Europe, USA, China and Japan. Keeping
in mind that China and Japan are two of its key markets, its surprising
the Lorinser haven't chosen an Asian model before now.
The
Lorinser Lexus LS 460 has a new body-kit that is meant to give the
five-meter long car an “elegant bodywork that exudes confidence."
The
engineers over at Lorinser have given the front bumper a new spoiler
that features new round fog lights. The new front bumper also appears
to be a bit more squared off than the standard model, giving the car a
more regal look.
Lorinser's Lexus LS 460
also
gains some new side skirts that have a dynamic verve that go directly
back into the door joint. The new side skirts make a substantial
difference, they aren't too wild, but do give the vehicle a certain
subtle
aggressiveness.
Moving
to the rear of
the vehicle the modifications are a little more noticeable. Although
Lorinser has kept the Lexus LS 460's rear lights standard, the
first noticeable modification is the addition of a rear boot lip
spoiler and new rear bumper.
The rear bumper shows
sporty characteristics, featuring a race-inspired
grille filled with mesh and a quad-tipped dual exhaust.
The package also comes with some
custom made light weight alloy-wheels.
It
appears that most of the modifications are made to the exterior. The
Lexus LS 460 has a relatively unchanged 0-100 km/h time of
5.7
seconds and a 4.6-liter V8 engine that produces 284kW (381hp).
Lorinser have not yet posted
details of it's Lexus LS 460, but we should see this package available
some time soon.
