2011 Lotus Elise

Lotus have given the Elise a more contemporary design

A choice of two lightweight wheel designs are available

Australia - The Lotus Elise will sport a new look for 2011, with the introduction of face-lifted variants of both models. Previously known as the Elise S, the entry level Lotus model will now simply be known as the Lotus Elise. The
2011 Lotus Elise introduces a number of changes which include its name,
appearance and a new engine with greater-performance and improved fuel
economy. At just 149g/km, the new Lotus Elise has the lowest CO2
for its performance of any petrol high performance sports car in the
world and fuel consumption figures on a combined cycle of just
5.04l/100km, 6.14l/100km combined, a 16 percent reduction over the 2010
Elise S. This is largely due to the Elise's new 1.6-litre
four cylinder VVT-I engine by Toyota. Producing 100kW at 6800rpm and
160Nm of torque, the engine allows the 876kg Elise to accelerate from
0-100km/h in 6.5 seconds. A new six-speed close-ratio manual gearbox is
also a first for Elise. The body of the new 2011 model year Elise
includes a new bumper, front clam and access panel that combine to give
the Elise a wider look. At the rear, a distinctive ‘twin-spine’
engine cover houses the new engine, whilst lower down there is a more aggressive
diffuser and new bumper design that now includes the rear licence plate. New
headlamp units with LED lighting (incorporating daytime running lamps
and direction indicators) give the Elise a more contemporary design too. A
choice of two lightweight wheel designs are available: an incredibly
light forged wheel and a new cast wheel. The new cast wheels have been
designed specifically for the Elise while the new optional forged
wheels weigh just 29.26kg per set: 2.14 kg lighter than a set of
lightweight cast versions. Both are available in silver or black colour. Cruise
control is available on the Elise for the first time as an option on
the Touring Pack, with the controls on a stalk located to the left of
the steering column. New options and accessories Cruise control (1.6-litre only, with Touring Pack)
Rear parking sensors (all models)
Forged alloys wheels (with Sport Pack)
Black Style Pack (black wheels and rear diffuser), all models
Sports exhaust (1.6-litre) for added 5kW Pricing The
first new-look Lotus Elise model to hit Australian shores will be the
supercharged Elise SC, with the first shipment due in July 2010,
shortly followed by the new 1.6-litre Lotus Elise, starting from the
same $69,990 recommended retail price. Related Links:
