–
Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled its
all-new 2010 E-Class Estate. The new model will join the sedan and
coupe variants of the executive model from this November.
The 2010 E-Class Estate measures 4,895 mm in
length, 1,854 mm in width and 1,471 mm in height, making it larger than
the current model. Boasting a maximum load capacity of 1,950 litres and
an 'easy-pack' tailgate that opens automatically and also the
convenient 'quickfold' rear seats.
Larger measurements mean that the E-Class Estate
benefits from a larger interior, an increase of 50 mm to 1,505 mm in
elbow width in the rear, while rear headroom with the tilting/sliding
sunroof installed has also improved by 50 mm to 1,010 mm (versions with
no sunroof 1,012 mm).
When it comes to safety no one does it better than
the Germans and the E-Class Estate is exception. Packed with safety and
technology features the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate has nine
airbags (and 11 if customers opt for the extra rear passenger side
airbags) Four belt tensioners and belt force limiters, NECK-PRO
crash-responsive head restraints and a newly developed DIRECT CONTROL
self-leveling suspension, which features the adaptive damping system as
standard, are all part of the package.
The new Estate has quite the engine line-up for
its launch, comprising five different variants - three diesel units,
and two petrol units. In the first quarter of 2010, Mercedes will also
add another five models to it's line-up including the All-Wheel Drive
E350 4MATIC.
