Sydney, Australia — Tuned
by AMG for an extra boost in the powertrain and chassis departments,
Mercedes has announced the CL 65 AMG will be on sale in Australia from October. Priced
at almost $500,000, the new CL 65 AMG comes at a cost, but has enough
power to drive the coupe from zero to 100km/h in a staggering 4.4
seconds. The price of the vehicle is as follows:  Mercedes-Benz CL 65 AMG: $474,974
The
new Mercedes-Benz CL 65 AMG shows off the latest in style from the
Stuttgart automaker, while at the same time giving the attractively
designed coupé the performance to humble many a super
car. "The Mercedes-Benz CL 65 AMG highlights the essence of Mercedes-AMG:
developing extraordinary cars and powerful drive systems," said Horst
von Sanden, Managing Director for Mercedes Car Group in Australia. "This
amazing coupé sets the benchmark in this segment and is the pinnacle of
the immensely successful CL-Class range launched earlier this year." Calling it "Australia’s most powerful coupé" the Mercedes-Benz CL 65 AMG will be on sale in Australia from October. It
is powered by an AMG 6.0-litre V12 bi-turbo
engine, delivering 450kW of power and maximum torque of
1000Nm @ 2000rpm. The CL 65 AMG attains 100km/h in 4.4 seconds and
reaches the 200km/h mark in 13.3 seconds. Like most Mercs, it's top
speed has been capped at 250km/h with an electronically speed
limiter. Standard features on the almost half-million
dollar vehicle include 20-inch AMG forged wheels, AMG body styling,
unique AMG interior and AMG sports suspension, based on the Active
Body Control system. The AMG sports seats have a special
upholstery pattern as well as both multi-contour and massage functions
and all four seats in the super coupe feature metal AMG badges. An
ergonomic sports steering wheel with a specially sculpted rim and
silver-coloured AMG aluminium gearshift paddles is also included. The new Mercedes CL 65 AMG will be on sale in October 2007, priced at $474,974. Related articles:
