In a recent interview with MINI brand chief, Wolfgang Armbrecht has
stated that the brand plans to introduce a new smaller model to it's
range. We can expect to see the new smaller model at the upcoming North
American International Auto Show in Detroit next month. The new
model is said to be a two seater that will be smaller than the current
MINI Cooper in every dimention. It’s also roumoured that the car will
use a new generation 1.5-litre 3-cylinder engine developed by BMW. “We have always been motivated by the idea to build a small spacious car”, hinting, “keep a close eye on the coming months.” said Wolfgang Armbrecht. A
smaller, even more compact car would fall in underneath all of the
current MINI models and be the new entry-level MINI that would rival
the Smart ForTwo and Toyota iQ. So, stay tuned for more details on the MINI compact car. Related
