Stuttgart, Germany — Porsche's
compact sports car, the Cayman, will make an even bigger impact when
the new high performance model goes on sale in September 2008. Germany's
most famous sports car maker has finished development on the
Porsche Cayman S Sport, which adds a range of new components to
increase its performance potential. A more
powerful
engine tune, now outputting 223kW (303hp), has been bequeathed on the
3.4-litre boxer six engine. A new exhaust system is also added, which
adds deeper sound as well. The speedy new Cayman S Sport could be offered with bold RS decals and colour coded 19-inch alloy wheels. Other extras will include a new
suspension system for sharper handling, which also drops the ride
height by 10mm, plus a range of other chassis upgrades such as improved
brakes. The new model from Porsche is expected to rival the BMW Z4 M Coupe, and only 700 units will be built, ensuring its rarity. Porsche
hopes the new model will attract the attention of customers new to the
brand, and in tandem with the limited edition Cayman Sport S model the
sports car company has revealed another mid-engined model, thePorsche Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2. Like
the Cayman, the limited edition Boxster convertible features a
modified 223kW flat 6-cylinder engine and 19-inch alloy wheels. Boxster
S Design Edition 2 buyers also get a customised (men's) wristwatch from
the 'Dashboard Collection' that was designed to match the style of
the car. The interiors of the cars feature lots of
sweat-absorbing suede, so whether you're on a smoking hot date or just
clipping apexes at the race track, you'll rarely be clammy. Porsche's two
new models will also provide the standard versions of its 'baby' sports
cars with halo effects, attracting attention to the more affordable
exotic mid-engined sports cars. Related Links: - Porsche 911 Targa (2009) - Porsche 911 (2009) - Porsche Hatchback (2012) - Porsche Panamera (2010) - Porsche Cayenne Turbo S (2008) - Rich Britons Prefer Porsche (2007) - Cayman
