Stuttgart, Germany - Porsche has released detials of its Panamera Turbo S before its official debut at the New York International Auto Show next month.

Powering the new Panamera Turbo S is a revised version of the standard Turbo's 4.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, power and torque has been increased from 368kW to 410kW and from 700Nm to 750Nm respectivly. With the use of an overboost function maximum torque hits 800Nm.

Revisions to the 4.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine include new twin turbochargers with titanium-aluminium turbines that reduce weight and have quicker turbo response, and a modified ECU mapping that increases overal engine performance.

Power and torque improvements allow the Panamera Turbo S to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds, making it a no-nonsense sedan. For those who are game to reach it, the top speed is 306km/h.

Even with the increased performance, combined cycle fuel consumption under the European NEDC system is 11.5-litres per 100km.

Standard advanced performance features include Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (an active anti-roll system that reduces roll in corners and enhances stability, handling and comfort), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (an advanced traction control system), Servotronic steering, sports exhaust and ‘Sport Plus’ button.

The 2011 Panamera Turbo S also gets new 20-inch Turbo II alloy wheels, adaptive four-way extending rear spoiler, Porsche Exclusive side skirts, two-tone leather upholstery and a unique Agate Grey Metallic paint option also add to the premium package.

Australian customers can expect to pay $440,200 for the Panamera Turbo S.
