Power is expected to come from turbo V6 motors

The new Saab 9-5 Sedan and SportCombi range were revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show, presenting an advanced new take on the 9-5 image, that at the same time retains the original cars' character.

Building on the brand's core values of progressive design and sporty driver involvement by incorporating new styling and improved handling characteristics, the new 9-5 model promises to add another strong new model to the Saab line-up to compliment the 9-3.

It features all-new front bodywork, with a bold new 'face' inspired by the Saab 9X concept car, and a fresh look inside that includes an updated dashboard and interior trim.

Excellent chassis dynamics have been further refined to give the driver even closer control with faster, more direct responses for sportier handling characteristics. This has been achieved without compromising ride quality and refinement, insists Saab.

Under the bonnet, the new range also offers a unique triple fuel engine choice. The all-turbo line-up includes a new diesel engine, a Saab BioPower engine that can run on any mixture of ethanol (E85) fuel and gasoline, and increased power for the top-of-the-range Aero model, which is sure to pulses racing.

Overall, the sportier visual impact of the new 9-5 Sedan and SportCombi (wagon/estate) is designed to reflect the enhancements under the bodywork, giving Saab's flagship range an even stronger appeal for customers who value modern, progressive design and a rewarding driving experience.
