Mladá Boleslav, Czech
Republic - Czech carmaker Škoda has
announced the release of its new Superb Wagon which made it debut at
last years Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Superb Wagon is available in a range of
engines: two petrol engines and one diesel engine which all feature direct fuel injection.
The 125 TDI diesel engine generates 125kW of power
and 350Nm of torque. Mated to a six-gear direct shift gearbox (DSG) the
125 TDI diesel can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 8.9 seconds before
hitting a top speed of 218km/h. Fuel consumption is 6.6-litres per
100km while CO2 emissions are 175 g/km.
The successful direct fuel injection campaign is
also continuing with the petrol engines.
The 118TSI produces 118kW of power and 250Nm of
torque, sending power the front-wheels generates a top speed of 218km/h while
accelerating from 0-100km/h takes 8.6 seconds. Fuel consumption for the
petrol engine is 7.5-litres per 100km and CO2 is 173g/km.
And sitting at the top of the engine range is the
191FSI petrol, with 191kW of power and 350Nm of torque, the Superb
Wagon is able to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 6.6 seconds before
reaching a top speed of 247km/h. Fuel consumption is 10.4-litres per
100km while CO2 emissions are 242g/km.
The 191FSI engine is mated to an automatic
six-gear DSG and all-wheel drive. The control unit of the
fourth-generation Haldex clutch provides variable torque split, which
guarantees the best possible traction and stability on any surface.
The new Superb Wagon is 4,838mm long, 1,817mm
wide, and 1,462mm high. Including the roof rails, delivered as standard
and available either anodised or black, the car’s height rises to
1,510mm. The loading capacity is bigger than anything seen yet in the
segment: the luggage compartment holds 633 litres, expanding to 1,865
litres when the rear seats are folded down.
The new Superb Wagon is mounted on either 16-inch
'Spectrum' (Ambition), 17-inch 'Trifid' (Elegance) or 18-inch
'Themisto' (Elegance 4x4) alloy wheels.

the innovative Park Assist parallel parking system which includes front
parking sensors.

available. The vehicle’s data network integrates to a radio with CD/MP3
player and offers a wide range of user-friendly support functions.

‘Columbus’ system with voice control and integrated 30GB hard disk -
20GB for Audio and 10GB for navigation. Other audio technology includes
a high-quality sound system with powerful speakers, an Aux-In socket, a
6-disc CD changer and an optional MDI (Media Device Interface) in the
